Cute Sloth Craft

Why Whisker Works is helping the sloths (besides the cuteness) -

We approached Sloth World last year about making a unique sloth-themed craft kit, similar to one we were already selling, and they enthusiastically welcomed the idea. They requested custom-designed two-toed and three-toed sloth kits, created exclusively for them. We poured our hearts into developing the designs and were incredibly excited about the partnership that would have been truly transformative for our small business. Then, earlier this year, communication suddenly stopped. Months later, we would learn the heartbreaking story of what happened to the sloths that were to be the stars of this animal encounter, most of whom had died. The Central Florida Zoo, just minutes from our Whisker Works’ HQ in Sanford, Florida, stepped in to help save the survivors.

Now the Sanford community is helping out. Fundraisers have already started with sales of adorable t-shirts, and we’ve donated more than 80 craft kits to this effort, with plans to do more. All of the proceeds from those sales are going to the zoo. Hopefully, we can help, at least in a small way, make the lives of these special little critters better.

Each sloth craft kit is individually packaged and includes the following:

- Wooden sloth, branch, and leaves

- Acrylic paint

- Fine-tipped paint brush

- Yarn

- Crafting instructions

- Animal facts

Depending on the crafter's skill set, we have included both Beginner and Advanced instructions in each kit. We think this craft works for ages 5+.
